**This course begins 9/4/17 and is held live, Monday evenings, 7 to 9 pm CST.  All recorded material is archived and accessible throughout the course, and for this reason, we leave registration open for late-coming students for the first 4 weeks of the course.

  The Emergent Responder program at Herbal Medics University includes (3) 12-week long online courses that cover critical information that will help an herbal medic or other health care personnel to set up and efficiently run an emergency or health clinic in less-than-ideal situations.

What is in this 12-week course?  AMBULATORY & EMERGENCY CARE 2

Week 1 & 2:  Emergency Birth and Pregnancy Support – supporting women in pregnancy and labor.

Week 3 & 4: Children’s Health – special considerations for children’s physical and emotional wellbeing in a post-disaster situation, common children’s diseases, caring for babies, considerations for orphans.

Week 5 & 6: Elder Support – special considerations for elder’s physical and emotional wellbeing in a post-disaster situation, alzheimer’s and dementia support, support for sudden loss of medications.

Week 7 & 8: Emergency Nutrition – managing macro and micro nutrient needs, resourcing and allocating food, prioritizing scarce nutrients across the population, ensuring that food is safely stored and prepared.

Week 9 & 10: Environmental Injuries and Care – managing illness and injury caused by environmental factors: weather, animals, etc. assessing environmental issues and pre-emptive actions to prevent illness and injury.

Week 11 & 12:  Bugs – managing the impact of lice, bedbugs, fleas, mosquitos/ticks, bees/wasps/scorpions, and parasites/worms. identifying vectors and pre-emptive action for prevention.

THE EMERGENT RESPONDER PROGRAM: WHAT IS IT?

Pre-requisites:  This is open to all students.  The Emergent Responder program does have co-requisites for completion and certification listed on our website here.

Tuition:  Each section is $310.

Early Bird Tuition Discount: $275 until 7/14/17.

Cash Tuition Discount: There is a cash/money order discount of $20 if tuition is mailed in or paid in person.

Bundled Tuition Discount:  Regular tuition for all 3 sections is $930 if paid individually.  If paid in full, in advance, the bundled tuition is $775. (saves $155) You can email hmu.suchil@gmail.com for bundled tuition options.
